Our West Vancouver client wanted something they couldn’t get from any other supplier in Vancouver. They wanted a modern shed made with their own doors custom doors that were left over from the renovation of their house.
Reclaimed Cedar Siding
Westcoast Outbuildings designed and built the building around the doors.
The siding on this building is pretty unique as well. It is made with 40-year-old reclaimed T&G panelling that was salvaged from an old house in Horseshoe Bay. We took the cedar, re-milled it, sanded and stained it o give it a very rich look and feel.

Our client was looking for a private space for their daughter to use as a workout room on their Point Grey Property. The solution was a Backyard Workout Room by Mon-Shed.
Situated in the South East corner of the property this Modern-Shed makes use of a previously unused space. This stunning, well-crafted 10’x12′ building would make a great addition to any Vancouver backyard.
This project was built in the spring of 2013 for a very well know Vancouver Restaurateur. Working closely with the client’s team of designers, consultants and assistants, Westcoast Outbuildings supplied and installed this beautiful custom Modern-Shed building.
A compact yet fully functional space was designed to fit within very tight “setback” requirements as designated by the District of West Vancouver. It features a 12’x12’ Prefab Workout Room with space for a weight bench, free weights, spin bike, TRX Suspension Training, big-screen TV and ample storage to boot.
There is a large 250+ Sq/ft low profile Trex Deck complete with built-in planters and lighting. Who can forget the outdoor shower with gas water heater? This is the full-meal-deal!
This was definitely one of our favourite buildings of 2013.
Need Storage in a Challenging Location = No Problem
Westcoast Outbuildings was retained to design, engineer and construct a 5’ x 7’ (35 Sq/Ft) rooftop storage shed on the 43rd-floor penthouse patio of a downtown high-rise building.
This job proved to be very challenging due to a location 500+ feet above ground, no elevator access to the top floor and environmental concerns such as extreme wind loads.
Additionally, the shed had to be built in one location and moved into place once built as its final resting place was very confined. Read more ›
