Looking for more storage for his Surrey BC rancher our client contracted Westcoast Outbuildings to design, build and install a beautiful 12′ x 28′ Modular Storage Shed in his backyard. This prefab shed took was manufactured in our North Vancouver Factory and transported to site fully built.
Westcoast Outbuildings also handled the demolition of the old shed, site preparation as well as acquiring the Building Permit from the City of Surrey.
Our client had recently completed construction on his stunning Westcoast Craftsman house in Richmond BC. He soon realized there was no practical place to store the gardening equipment, kids toys or recycling bins

As this project was under 107.6 Sq/Ft or 10 m2 no building permit was required Craftsman Garden Shed in Richmond BC.

Our client came to us looking for a small building to house his electric Meat Smoker. Many of the Prefab Smokehouse products he had seen on the market were poorly built and didn’t look very nice.
Our task was to It had to be robust, secure and most importantly aesthetically pleasing Prefab Smokehouse (Prefab Meat Smoker).
For the overall design, we went with a Modern Shed style building with acrylic clerestory windows on the side and a vented front window complete with bug screen.
For the siding on the building, we chose to use the ancient Japanese wood preserving method of Shou Sugi Ban. Essentially we burned and charred the wood which officers a protective layer that preserves the wood for generations to come.
The results are truly stunning. We love the Shou Sugi Ban Prefab Smokehouse!
This building was prefabricated in our North Vancouver Factory and installed onsite in 90 minutes.

Westcoast Outbuildings is pleased to announce it’s just signed on to build a 10′ x 24′ Modular Office for Sticks Building Products of North Vancouver BC.
Sticks is relocating their Materials Yard to Maple Ridge BC in the fall of 2014. As part of that relocation they need a Portable Office Buildings.
Sticks went to BC’s largest Modular Building builder but they were unable to supply the right style of building in the timeline required. They couldn’t meet our client’s needs. Ultimately a “Construction Trailer” would not meet the design standards for the Kanaka Business Park.

Sticks President Kevin Bradshaw contacted us and in less than 48hrs Westcoast Outbuildings created concept drawings and had them approved by the business parks architect. Now we are working to obtain the required Building Permits to proceed with the development.
Here is one of our newest designs heading to the Comox Valley in September (pending permit). It’s our 10’x16′ Contemporary Building with a 4′ Covered Porch.
This design has our new wrap around clerestory windows.

There is simply something magical about jumping on a BC Ferry and heading out to the Gulf Islands. So quick to get there (45 min by ferry) yet a world away once you’re there.
We were contacted this fall by a client looking to build a small cabin on his property on Galiano Island. The property consisted of a little over 4 acres of forest and rolling hills with a lovely building site set above the valley.
The client wanted something, simple, modern yet a bit rustic and finding that balance was a real challenge but I think we did it. The result was a beautiful 10′ wide x 24′ long Coastal Cabin with a 120 sq/ft indoor living space and 120 sq/ft outdoor living space.
