Our clients came to us with a challenge… They had just bought a brand new townhouse in East Vancouver and it had ZERO storage for bikes, winter tires, hockey gear etc.
During the purchase process they approached the property developer and requested they install a shed. The developer said NO but passed on our website to the buyers.
We received the call and met the client on-site to figure out exactly what they needed.
We had to fit the shed into the existing parking pad and make it look as though it was meant to be there. They didn’t want the East Vancouver Storage Shed to stick out or draw attention.
Also due to the proximity to 1st Ave. and Commercial Drive the significant foot traffic posed a potential security/break-in risk.
The solution was a Custom 5×7 Contemporary Shed. We were able to use horizontal siding, as well as match the existing paint colours and trim details. We then added a highly secure roll-top door by Smart Garage with dual cam locks for extra security.
Here is a great example of a situation where you can pair modern/contemporary design with the traditional look of the townhouses and when done properly it works well. This custom-made building was design, approved and delivered in about two weeks!

Our clients purchased their new Modern style house only to realize one of the main downsides of Modern Design… the lack of storage.
Turning to the yard to recover that storage space there was nowhere feasible to build in the front yard and with a 45° drop off to the backyard those two areas were out of the question. The only other viable option a thin postage stamp strip of land between the neighbouring yard and the house.

Our client owns a beautiful Mid-Century house with nearly an acre of land just a few blocks from Ambleside Beach.
One of the typical downsides of Modern Design is the lack of storage and this house was no exception.
Our client asked us to design, fabricate and install one of our 8’x12′ Contemporary Garden Sheds. This West Vancouver Garden Shed needed to blend into its surroundings seamlessly yet be easy to access.
We love the colour scheme and location the client chose for this shed although it was a bit challenging for us to get too.

With a new baby in the family, our client decided it was time for more outdoor storage. Time to move the bikes out of the garage and make way for strollers and car seats. Of course with the District of North Vancouver’s new Bi-Weekly garbage pickup a longer-term, animal-proof garbage storage facility was now needed.
Our client chooses our brand new Tough-Structures Contemporary Garden Shed design. This sleek single pitch roof is paired with poly-carbonate clerestory windows which let in a ton of light. My client also opted to add an additional window for increased ventilation and light.
One of the great things about our Tough-Structures line of buildings is that they are not permanently affixed to the ground and can be easily moved or relocated as necessary.
It was time to make a change… The cedar garden shed my client had bought from Rona several years earlier had a definite lean to the left of 4-5 degrees or maybe more. The door barely opened and there was a SKUNK living underneath it!
It was only a matter of time before that shed was coming down, either by sledge-hammer or by Mother Nature!
10′ x 20′ Contemporary Storage Shed – North Vancouver
My client called me looking for options. After an onsite visit and consultation, he settled on a 10’ x 20’ Tough-Structures Contemporary Storage Shed with some great modifications. At one end of the shed is a 5’ x 7’ Roll-Up Door by Smart Garage. Roll-Up doors are the cat’s meow. Unlike traditional overhead doors which come in panels and lay horizontally near the ceiling when in the up position; Roll-Up doors do exactly that, they roll-up into an 18” coil and take up virtually no storage room at all.
