Our client recently took possession of a new Kitsilano Penthouse Condo. Like most new construction projects their unit lacked a critical component…. STORAGE. They needed a rooftop storage shed.
Somethings being simple, clean and elegant is the right choice.
Rooftop Storage Shed
Knowing they couldn’t find a rooftop storage shed at Rona or Home Depot that would meet their design aesthetic they contacted Westcoast Outbuildings. We were asked to design and build a rooftop storage shed that would compliment their modern styled patio design by Houston Landscapes and provide the storage they would need for chairs, pillows, gardening tools etc. Read more ›
Westcoast Outbuildings recently made a significant donation towards the construction of a Lifestyle Garden Shed at the Edible Garden Project’s Sutherland Secondary Market Garden. Check out this Beauty.
Did you notice the cool reclaimed siding on this building? It was reclaimed from a 1960’s house in Burnaby that was about to be torn down. It was saved and re-pourposed.

BOTHELL WASHINGTON — When Alyse and Jesse Combs discovered Modern-Shed, they realized that it was exactly what they’d been looking for.
A huge fan of the online pinning board Pinterest, Alyse often found herself perusing the site’s garden section, pinning photos of a variety of greenhouses that might complement her backyard.
More and more, she began to see photos of sheds that looked more like modular, chic studios, rather than a typical garden tool shed.
After more research, Alyse discovered Modern-Shed, based in neighbouring Seattle.
When we first got the call from this client we knew right away this would be an exciting project.
My client had a plethora of garden implements, bikes, children’s toys and lawn chairs lying around. He needed a Storage Shed for his Lynn Valley house.
But not just any house, a house with a very distinct architect designed modern look and feel.
One of the challenges with Modern Design and Construction as that typically there is very little storage space included. We needed to design and build a storage shed that would complement and not look out-of-place.
After seeing our Sponsored Ad on Facebook our client called us down for a site inspection, he wanted us to remove the rusty old metal shed and replace is with something functional and long-lasting. But most importantly something that the Skunks couldn’t dig under.
The result is a 10×12 Tough-Structures Gable Shed with complete with a ramp and galvanized wire mesh screens to kept the little critters out. Read more ›
It was time to make a change… The cedar garden shed my client had bought from Rona several years earlier had a definite lean to the left of 4-5 degrees or maybe more. The door barely opened and there was a SKUNK living underneath it!
It was only a matter of time before that shed was coming down, either by sledge-hammer or by Mother Nature!
10′ x 20′ Contemporary Storage Shed – North Vancouver
My client called me looking for options. After an onsite visit and consultation, he settled on a 10’ x 20’ Tough-Structures Contemporary Storage Shed with some great modifications. At one end of the shed is a 5’ x 7’ Roll-Up Door by Smart Garage. Roll-Up doors are the cat’s meow. Unlike traditional overhead doors which come in panels and lay horizontally near the ceiling when in the up position; Roll-Up doors do exactly that, they roll-up into an 18” coil and take up virtually no storage room at all.
